Last week 15 new artworks from our collection arrived at the Stroke Rehabilitation Unit at University Hospital Llandough. The new artworks were carefully chosen through a collaborative process facilitated by Paintings in Hospitals Relationship & Development Manager, Dominic.

Tori and Ellie celebrate the arrival of 15 new artworks at the Stroke Rehab Unit

“Our inclusive co-curatorial approach has involved in and out patients, staff, consultants and physiotherapists and the level of engagement and positivity has been fantastic!

The resulting selection includes breathtaking Welsh landscapes, bringing the essence of outside – fresh air and iconic coastal walks walking adventures. Colourful and energetic abstract works to stimulate and enhance the rehabilitation journey. And in the rehab gym we have added a Welsh rugby watercolour and a dynamic oil painting of runners in action. The various artworks capture the vitality of movement and stimulate physical and neurological activity, which in turn support the stroke rehabilitation experience. In essence, the artworks stimulate, uplift and inspire.
